XR Horizon produced a 2D animated video trailer for "Aiden," a radio cinema created by 94.3 Club FM Kerala. The trailer was released as a special birthday tribute to superstar Mohanlal and premiered during Bigg Boss Season 6. The story originated from a single line by director Ramesh Pisharody and was expanded live on-air by Club FM RJs and listeners, in collaboration with Asianet Movies.
Challenge & Solution
The core challenge was converting an audio-driven radio cinema into a visually compelling 2D animated experience. We needed to retain the humour, suspense, and collaborative spirit of the original on-air storytelling. We solved this by developing detailed storyboards, expressive colour palettes, and thoughtful compositions. Each scene was crafted to reflect how listeners might have visualised the story, ensuring both accuracy and emotional continuity.

Our Process
We began with a detailed analysis of the "Cinema Katha" plot to identify the key emotional beats, character moments, and narrative transitions. Our team developed scene-by-scene sketches with strong compositions and character-driven framing to guide mood, pacing, and rhythm. These sketches formed the foundation for the animation style, colour direction, and final motion design. The result was a clean, dynamic visual flow that supported the narrative without overpowering the original storytelling essence.

The 2D animated trailer delivered a massive impact for Club FM's Cinema Katha campaign. It amplified audience engagement, created a strong buzz around the radio cinema.
